The DREAM Foundation offers the DREAM Program, a unique mentorship program for students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Students will complete a 10-week virtual program, learning real-world skills including networking opportunities (virtually), resume building, interacting with sports business professionals, and completing a client-based interactive group project. Mentees will also have an opportunity to work at a live sporting event, gaining hands-on experience in areas such as event support, marketing strategy, sponsorship sales, communications, and social media.
Candidates ideally have experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Keynote, Adobe Photoshop, and social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube). The following attributes are a must: excellent verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and adhere to deadlines, and the capacity to work in a very fast-paced environment.
We are asking student candidates to submit a professional resume and a ONE-slide PowerPoint resume about themselves to apply for this opportunity. The slide should include their bio information, including previous industry experience, volunteer work, and education. Ultimately, how would you promote yourself to a potential employer? Creativity and design are also just as important as the content.
